ESA Council Speaker-elect Nominations

The ESA Council invites nominations for the role of Speaker-elect, to take office following the August 2023 Council meeting at the 2023 ESA Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon. The elected candidate will serve for three years — first as Speaker-elect, then rise to Speaker in 2024 and then continue as Past Speaker in 2025 — as part of the Council Leadership Team, which serves to identify matters for Council discussion and liaise between Council and the Governing Board, or program committees as required.

Any current member of the ESA Council is eligible for the role. While Council representatives’ terms typically run for two years, any representative who rises to the role of Speaker-elect (and subsequent roles) will have their term extended until their year as Past Speaker is completed.
