Lead Reservoir Scientist in the Watershed Protection Department.
Primary responsibilities include development and implementation of limnological studies of reservoir health, including trophic status, temporal and spatial trends. In addition, this position oversees littoral zone and riparian restoration activities, including work with invasive species control options and reviewing development projects in the reservoir critical water quality zone. This position will also be responsible for working with a wide range of stakeholder groups with the goal of moving demonstrated reservoir science to policy. Skills that are needed include: reservoir ecology, limnology, open water and littoral zone monitoring experience, phytoplankton/zooplankton taxonomy, writing and presentation of scientific results. If selected for this position, you will be asked to provide proof of your education. Must be able to conduct field work and work in various weather conditions and terrains. Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. (e.g. loading, carrying, preparing field equipment). Duties and functions specific to this position: 1. Manage field and lab reservoir monitoring program. 2. Develop, document and implement reservoir targeted studies. 3. Manage and oversee restoration activities, including CIP funded projects. 4. Support other water quality related projects. 5. Effectively communicate with stakeholders: writing, mediation and presentation. 6. Review reservoir development projects.
