ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN TROPICAL FOREST ECOLOGY

The University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Campus, Department of Crops and Agro-Environmental Sciences seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor position in Tropical Forest Ecology and Natural Resources Management. Tenure-track; nine-month/year appointment; 75% instruction/25% research. Base salary $62,256; medical; holiday bonus.

Responsibilities: Offer undergraduate and graduate courses in: Tropical Forest Ecology, NRM, and Land-Resource Usage. Advise on research by undergraduate and graduate students. Establish externally funded research program on tropical forest ecology and NRM.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or Sc.D. in Ecology, Forestry, Natural Resources & Environmental Sciences, or closely related disciplines. Strong ability to communicate and teach in Spanish and English. Proven ability to secure external funding and strong publication record. Solid interdisciplinary collaboration skills, essential. U.S. citizenship, or permanent U.S. Resident status, required.
