The National Weather Center houses a unique confederation of The University of Oklahoma, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and state organizations that work together in partnership to improve understanding of events occurring in Earth’s atmosphere over a wide range of time and space scales.  Tours include visits to the McCasland Family Observation Deck, School of Meteorology, the NOAA/NWS Storm Prediction Center, the NWS Norman Weather Forecast Office, and the National Severe Storm Laboratory.

Tour duration: 1.5 hours. You will be able to choose one of three tours beginning at (1 pm, 2 pm canceled)  and 3 pm.

National Security Requirements: Due to national security, all field trip participants will be required to register at a dedicated NWC site to select a particular tour (i.e. 3 pm).  You will receive a link to the tour registration site AFTER you register for the Life Discovery conference.  Please allow 3-5 business days to receive the follow up email. If you do not receive the tour registration information within 5 business days, please contact LDC@nullesa.org. Kindly do NOT contact NWC about tour registration.

Non-US citizens. NWC Security Guidelines require that foreign nationals (non-US citizens) obtain security clearance.  Foreign national visitors are required to complete and submit the NWC Foreign National Visitor Form at least two weeks in advance of a tour date.  In order to receive the required form, you must first register for a tour. Therefore, all foreign nationals should register by September28 in order to ensure that you have a spot on the tour.

For questions about the security clearance requirements, please contact the NWC Tour Coordinator, Patrick Hyland at pat.hyland@nullou.edu for additional information.
