Peer-to-peer portal established amid COVID-19 disruptions

Dear ESA Members,

ESA is thinking about all those who are affected by the disruption to daily life caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus). We are concerned about the impact that the spread of this disease will personally have on members of the ecologic and the greater scientific community. We hope you remain safe and that daily operations return to normal as soon as possible.

Until then, many members of the ESA community want to know how they can support their colleagues and what resources they can offer. Do you have an  online teaching model resource to share or a website to share on how to teach a class remotely? Do you need someone to visit your field site setup? Do you need a way to virtually interact with your quarantined grad student? Maybe a short guest lecture, or an online course module on a topic? Perhaps it’s just a virtual meet-up needed to break the isolation of those affected. ESA is facilitating scientist-to-scientist sharing by collecting offers of assistance and resources in this form to share with those affected on an Ecotone virtual bulletin board.

ESA continues to explore ways to support our members and everyone in the scientific community during these uncertain times. As always, please reach out to us if there is some way we can support you in the weeks ahead.

*Other societies and scientists are free to use the portal if it would be helpful without any further permission from ESA.*
