The National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A) Final Integrated Activity Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (IAP/EIS), due to be published in November, 2012, will analyze the Preferred Alternative. The BLM will not make a decision until at least 30 days after the publication of the Final IAP/EIS. The BLM will then issue a Record of Decision. Based on that decision, BLM may conduct one or more lease sales in the planning area, with the first tentatively scheduled for 2013.
