Approved Courses by Global Wildlife Resources (GWR)

Global Wildlife Resources (GWR) is dedicated to promoting the humane capture and handling of wildlife through comprehensive training and field assistance. GWR courses are the most extensive and practice field-based training.

The online Foundations of Wildlife Chemical Capture and live Wildlife Handling and Chemical Immobilization courses, both led by Dr. Mark Johnson, have been approved for continuing education by ESA.

The online Foundations of Wildlife Chemical Capture is a self-paced course with Dr. Mark’s interactive support. Registration is always open. It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in learning about wildlife capture techniques, with student discounts and college credit options available.

GWR’s is also teaching live Wildlife Handling and Chemical courses across the US with hands-on labs each day. The training is designed for state/federal/tribal wildlife professionals, college students, and wildlife rehabilitators, and focuses on the field-based needs for chemical immobilization of captive and free-ranging wildlife. For a list of GWR’s live courses across the U.S. go to GWR’s Live Training webpage.

Anyone attending GWR’s live and online courses can join Dr. Mark’s monthly Q&A Wildlife Capture Discussion Session for year-round support.
