About the Aquatic Section

The purpose of the Aquatic Ecology Section of the Ecological Society of America is to advance, coordinate, and assist research and dissemination of theoretical and applied knowledge in all branches of aquatic ecology and to act as a liaison agency between investigators, societies, or any groups interested in this discipline and other scientific fields.One of the most important things the section does is administer awards to students and recent graduates. Student registration will open on March 30, as will housing, and then regular registration will open the following week.

The deadline for contributed talk and poster abstracts is February 20, 2020 at 5:00 PM Eastern.

Travel Funding and Awards

May 1 as the deadline to submit applications for travel funding, exceptional promise, and the Tom Frost award opportunities. Decisions on travel and other award decisions will be made by June 1.

Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship

Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship

The Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship supports meeting attendees who bring a diverse perspective to the ESA Annual Meeting, are new to ESA, and might not otherwise be able to attend. Applicants must be planning to speak or lead an activity in a session that has been accepted for the meeting, such as an oral session, or a workshop, special session, or field trip. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, February 27.
