Webmaster: Novem Auyeung (NYC Parks & Recreation)

ROLE:
I'm the administrator of the ESA student section website, and we're always interested in getting feedback from you or any ideas you may have on how to improve the website.

ABOUT ME & SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS:
Although I've always had an interest in science and environmental issues, I grew up in huge cities like Hong Kong and Bangkok, Thailand so I didn't discover the nature-loving, outdoorsy side of me until I came to the U.S. for college. Ecology became a great way for me to combine all my interests together, and I've done research in a variety of areas from succession in forest ecosystems to plant invasions. I got my Ph.D. from Purdue University where I worked with Jeff Dukes. My dissertation was on the effects of climate change on nitrogen cycling and ammonia-oxidizing microbial communities at the Boston Area Climate Experiment (BACE). I'm currently working at the NYC Parks & Recreation Department's Urban Field Station, which does urban socio-ecological research in the NYC area.
