Women & Minorities Committee Member: Caitlin Ryan (Texas Tech)

ABOUT ME & SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS:
Currently, I am a second-year PhD Student in the Department of Environmental Toxicology at Texas Tech University. I am interested in the effects of near-shore anthropogenic sources of heavy metal contamination on estuary communities. My research predominantly focuses on changes in commensal bacterial communities due to contaminant stressors and the outcome result on host sensitivity to that particular contaminant.

Prior to my graduate studies, I earned my Bachelors of Science at SUNY Geneseo in Biology with a Mathematics minor.
