Undergraduate Presentation Awards Coordinator: Russell Auwae (Miami U of Ohio)

I am working toward a PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology at Miami University in Ohio. I am most interested in studying the impacts of natural and human disturbances on soil microbial C and N dynamics. I am currently part of the winter climate change research team at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, NH. As part of this team, I am responsible for tracing the movement of C and N from labeled litter into the soil under freezing conditions. Knowing where C and N moves during freezing conditions will give a better understanding of annual nutrient budgets, forest productivity, and water quality.
