| Have
you ever wondered what editors look for when combing through the barrage
of manuscript submissions? Just how do you get your manuscript to the
top of the pile? In this workshop participants will learn what editors
look for when deciding which articles get considered for publication,
learn how to avoid common mistakes, how to prepare illustrations, and
some hints and tips about things like copyright permissions, citations,
and more. In addition, this workshop will cover the article types and
requirements for the different ESA journals, and the details about how
to use the online submission system. A question and answer session will
follow the presentations. This workshop is aimed at students, post-docs, and early-career ecologists, but attendance is open to all. |

| The session will
begin with several short presentations by ESA editors and production
staff, followed by a panel discussion that will constitute the majority
of the session.
