Since the SEEDS program began in 1996, we have always served international students in our variety of US programs. Since then, three opportunities have enabled us to bring students abroad (Kananaskis field trip, 2004; ESA Mexico conference, 2006; and Chiapas field trip 2007). Beginning in 2009 international research opportunities for SEEDS students were brought to another level with our partnership with activities in Chile offered in conjunction with the Sub-Antarctic Biocultural Conservation Program, coordinated by the Universidad de Magallanes and the University of North Texas. We hope to expand to other countries in the near future, along with the ecological issues that know no boundaries.
