Ecological Society of America

Our group is a volunteer-oriented service club at Willamette University focused on teaching 4th and 5th graders about natural science. Our program works with Bush Elementary School, which has a high percentage of minority and underprivileged kids. It is our goal to provide a healthy snack, mentorship, and education about the natural world to the students once a week. We take them on field trips to places such as the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the ocean, as well as local parks. The largest part of the program is the weekly ecological lesson.
