"San José State SEEDS" » San José, California
The mission of our chapter will be to promote interest in the science of ecology and in the natural history of the South San Francisco Bay of California.
Plans for 2009-2010
- Visit Blue Oak Reserve, a 1300 ha natural area located within 30 minutes of campus, devoted to research and education
- Visit Moss Landing Marine Labs to view ecologists doing research in the marine sciences
- Visit Bonny Doon Ecological Reserve, a very unique sandhills habitat ~1 hour from campus. A wildfire that burned about half the reserve about 2 years ago has led to regeneration of plants in this fire-dependent habitat.
- Host a speaker to present their ecological research at the Department of Biological Sciences seminar.
Activities of 2008-2009
