The purpose of the Rust College SEEDS Campus Ecology Chapter is to educate young African American men and women about the organization. We also give knowledge of opportunities to offer valuable information about the environment and the effects it could have on us as individuals, and to persuade others to make the world a better place. |
Plans for 2008-2009
- We will extensively work on recycling awareness on campus and will involve more students in ecology club activities. We will publish a monthly ecology news letter to educate the students in modern trends in ecology, and the scholarship opportunities in ecology for student. We will invite a speaker expert in the field of ecology.
- We will participate in ecological workshops, and annual ecological meeting.

- Chapter president attended the SEEDS Leadership Meeting at Duke University in NC February 2008.
- Chapter president attended the 2008 ESA Annual Meeting on a SEEDS travel award.
- Chapter advisor and the chapter president attended the 2008 SEEDS Fall field trip to Harvard Forest LTER as a faculty volunteer
