SEEDS: Newsletter
SEEDS (Strategies for Ecology Education, Development and Sustainability), an education program of the Ecological Society of America, promotes ecology opportunities for underrepresented students in an effort to diversify and advance the ecology profession. SEEDS publishes an online newsletter ten times a year to disseminate information about the program, its participants, and opportunities in ecology.
SEEDS Newsletter Bulletin Board
The Bulletin Board section of the SEEDS Newsletter offers a venue for other organizations to share their opportunities with a diverse community of students. Examples of opportunities acceptable for posting include research opportunities, fellowships, internships, and grants. Employment opportunities listed on the regular ESA employment website can also be cross-linked to this Bulletin Board to reach the most diverse applicant pool.
Circulation
The newsletter is published ten times a year – February, March, April, May, June, July/August, September, October, November, and December/January and reaches more than 1,200 students. Please see the submission section for specific circulation dates. Each issue is emailed directly to students and is also posted online, linked from the SEEDS homepage. Archived issues are also available on the SEEDS website. Each opportunity that is submitted is also posted on the ESA website on the internship or grants & fellowships pages of the career opportunities section.
Donation
In exchange for posting your opportunity, we ask that you consider making a suggested donation of $100 to the SEEDS program. Donation information can be found at http://www.esa.org/seeds/supportSEEDS.php
Timeline
All opportunities must be submitted by the deadline to be included in that month’s newsletter.
