Participants arrive by 6:00pm for a welcome, introductions, and a group dinner
Tuesday, June 4, 2013
Morning:

  • Plenary talks on resources and tools for continental-scale ecology
  • Identification of important questions to address in population and community ecology

Afternoon/Evening:

  • Working groups refine and prioritize key questions
  • Joint reception with students from the Future of Environmental Decisions (FED) Workshop
Wednesday, June 5, 2013
Morning:

  • Working groups report back in plenary
  • Working groups develop preliminary research plans

Afternoon:

  • Working groups identify ideas of associated broader impacts projects
  • Working groups report back in plenary
Thursday, June 6, 2013
Morning:

  • Joint session with FED Student Workshop to discuss research plans and broader impacts project ideas
  • Working groups refine research plans based on student feedback

Afternoon:

  • Working groups meet in plenary to exchange ideas based on student feedback
  • Joint session with students to provide feedback on refined plans and form collaborative research teams
Friday, June 7, 2013
Morning:

  • Joint session; participate in student research project presentations
  • Next steps and closing
