Step 1: Let us know if you’ll be bringing a colleague (only for Strategies for Success Courses)
We are offering our popular colleague discount again for our Strategies for Success courses! Here’s how it works: bring a colleague who is working on the same project and save $100 on their course fee. Discount applicable only in pairs (2) who attend the same Strategies for Success course together.

Step 2: Fill out our Participant Information Form
The form is short, consisting of three pages, and should only take a few minutes to complete if you prepare your responses to the short answer questions in advance. We’ll ask you for some basic contact details and biographical information, some general information about your project (including current and planned funding sources), and you’ll need to answer the following questions, limiting your responses to 100 words or less:
Strategies for Success short answer questions:
- Describe your project’s purpose and user base.
- How is your project valuable to your user community, and to the wider biological research community?
- What are your current most pressing financial and programmatic sustainability concerns?
- What do you hope to accomplish at your project by attending the Strategies for Success course?

Step 3: Pay Your Invoice
Once you fill out your participant information form, we will process it and send you a PalPal Invoice. Your place on the course is confirmed after you’ve paid your course fee.
How much will it cost?
Cost for our upcoming course:
Strategies for Success online course fee: $550 (6 weeks)
The course fee includes 6 weeks of instruction and access to the online course materials for one year after the close of your course.
Costs for other courses we offer annually:
Strategies for Success face-to-face course fee: $850 (3 days)
Creating a Successful Business Plan course fee: $550 (2 days)
The course fee includes all course materials, plus lunches and refreshments during the course days. The course fee does not include accommodation and other meals, or travel to and from the course.
We always strive to hold our courses at facilities with reasonable costs. For reference, participants who stayed onsite at our previous courses in the DC area could purchase a comprehensive meeting package (including dinner, accommodation, and breakfast) for approximately $159 per person, per night.
