The 2003 ESA/ISEM Annual Meeting will take place at the new, state-of the-art Savannah International Trade & Convention Center from Sunday, August 3 through NOON on Friday, August 8, 2003. The meeting theme is » Uplands to Lowlands: Coastal Processes in at Time of Global Change.» 

Savannah is a unique city whose history and architecture date back to pre-Revolutionary times. Among the most romantic and picturesque destinations in America, Savannah offers numerous delights. These include exceptional southern cuisine, distinctive natural features and museums, abundant antiquing opportunities, a thriving City Market, quirky local characters, and ghosts. Nearby one can find beautiful beaches at Tybee and Hilton Head and remarkable low country ecosystems.

In early May, the Preliminary Program and Meeting Registration, Housing Reservations, and Child Care Services Enrollment Forms will be posted on the ESA website. However, to assist those planning to attend who already wish to make travel plans, program highlights are listed.

• Buell Braun Judges and ESA Council will meet
  
• Opening Ceremony and Public Plenary will feature a noted speaker and entertainment by the Hallelujah Singers of the Gullah
  
• An All-Society Welcome Mixer will follow Public Plenary

• Full scientific program will begin Monday at 8 AM
  
• Monday Afternoon Public Plenary, Awards Ceremony, and MacArthur Lecture will feature addresses by current and Past ESA Presidents, Award presentations, and lecture by Dr. James Brown
  
• Daily scientific program will include 24 scientific symposia, 6 special sessions, 20 evening sessions, and more than 1,800 oral and poster presentations
  
• Exhibits and Displays open
  
• Poster Pubs in the Exhibit Hall evenings Monday through Thursday evening between 5 PM and 6:30 PM will allow attendees, presenters, and exhibitors to interact in a casual atmosphere with NO competing scheduled activities
  
• Various ESA and other Committees, Boards, Sections, and Chapters will convene business meetings and mixers, lunchtime workshops, and discussions
  
• Numerous ticketed social events, special receptions and special events will
  
• Wednesday sunrise event will continue Fun Run/Fun Walk tradition
  
• Friday Wrap Up Breakfast will be followed by late-breaking and newsworthy poster presentations and final symposia and oral sessions
  
• Scientific program will end at NOON<

Children, teens, spouses, and guests will find plenty to do in Savannah. A short drive out of downtown Savannah
easy walks between our convention hotels, dorms and the historic downtown squares, Savannah can be easily reached by air and by car, especially by the East Coast Interstate system.
