Description:
Montréal
is a patchwork of different neighborhoods, each with their unique history and
flavor. Participants can take this opportunity to discover Montréal with
Montrealers who will show some of their preferred corners near the Palais des
congrès. The group will stroll in
the streets of Old Montréal, discovering its charm and the history from Église
Notre-Dame to the Marché Bonsecours. Participants will then walk north on
St-Laurent, one of the main streets of downtown, where different waves of
immigrants have left their imprint. Depending on the number of participants, the
group may divide into smaller groups, but all will meet in a restaurant for
dinner around 7:30 PM. After dinner, participants will walk to a public musical
show offered by the Francofolies to
savor the sense of festivity of summer nights in Montréal and be introduced to
the vibrant life of the second largest French-speaking city in the world.
Equipment
and Attire: Participants
are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes as the streets in Old Montréal
are cobblestone.
