Description: The untamed beauty of the Laurentian forest–a land of lakes, mountains, and rivers where wildlife roams free–defines Mont-Tremblant Park, the largest provincial protected area with a surface of 1,492 km.  Open all-year-round, the Park provides a safe haven for mammals such as black bears, white-tailed deer, moose, wolf, raccoons, and foxes, and for close to 200 species of birds, including the bald eagle, which is an endangered species in Québec. Lakes, rivers, cascading waterfalls, and mountain peaks are plentiful, allowing for a scope of outdoor activities during this excursion that will include camping, canoeing and hiking. Aside from being the biggest park in the network of Parc Québec, it is also the first national park to have been created in Québec.

Hiking is the most popular activity at Parc national du Mont-Tremblant as traveling on foot allows visitors to discover the true nature of the Laurentian landscape. Hence, the first day will be spent on the trails. Participants should be sure to bring binoculars. The second day will be spent canoeing. Without a doubt, canoeing is the favorite way to discover Parc national du Mont-Tremblant. For more information, visit www.sepac.com and select “Parc du Mont Trembant”.

Equipment and Attire: Participants must bring their own camping gear: tent, sleeping bag, mattress, back-pack, mess kit, hiking shoes, and appropriate attire for backwoods camping. Each should also bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and binoculars. Camping stoves will be provided.
