The theme for 2023

seeks to help create an ESA for All Ecologists by providing programming and inviting sessions that better engage private- and public-sector ecologists by highlighting projects that are implementing ecological science, collaborating across sectors, educating future scientists and decision makers, and disseminating basic and applied ecology research to those who need it most.

Career Central

Though traditionally a society for academics, ESAโ€™s membership has grown and diversified over the years to include scientists in the government and nonprofit sectors, educators, science communicators, and consultants and practitioners in a variety of fields. To support all ecologists regardless of career pathway, we developed resources to aid anybody exploring or considering a career in ecology, plus practical advice for navigating your pathway.

Meeting Mentor Signup

SEEDS specific events at the Annual Meeting include an orientation meeting and dinner, a mixer, and a breakfast for participants and mentors. Other highlighted events include a diversity luncheon and student events such as section meetings and mixers.

Students

For 25 years, the SEEDS program has been supporting students to participate in our annual gathering of ecologists, which brings together over 3,500 scientists to communicate their research at the annual meeting. As well as hearing from experts in a variety of fields, you will be under direct tutelage from those same experts as you select your own meeting mentor!
