Ecology in an Era of Globalization will be held at the Fiesta Americana hotel in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Founded on the site of the Mayan city of T´hó in 1542, Merida, the capital city of Yucatan, is located in the northeast of the Yucatan peninsula. To the north of Merida lies the Gulf of Mexico, to the west and southwest the state of Campeche, to the east and southeast the state of Quintana Roo. Nearby attractions include Mayan ruins such as Chichen Itza, the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, and the flamingo colonies of Celestun.

The Fiesta Americana is located on the Paseo de Montejo, within walking distance of shopping areas, museums, and other hotels. In addition to a block of sleeping rooms at the Fiesta Americana, additional rooms are being reserved for conference participants in several nearby hotels offering a range of rates.

More information about lodging and housing reservations, air travel, and visa requirements will be posted on this site in the near future.
