The full registration fee includes lunch and dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday, as well as coffee and tea breaks throughout the conference. The conference  hotel rate includes breakfast. Preconference workshops and fieldtrips will involve additional fees.

Participants will be able to attend all regular sessions on both days of the conference. There is an additional fee for the pre-conference workshop and field trips.

*Please note that we will not process credit card payments onsite. All payments must be made by check payable to “Ecological Society of America”. A $25 fee will be assessed on any checks that are returned.

Hotel, Conference Location, Directions

The LDC hotel HQ is the Marriott Conference Center at NCED at a negotiated rate of $95 + tax (13.75%) for single rooms and $119 + tax for double occupancy.  The number of available rooms are limited. LDC cannot guarantee that you will be able to secure a room.  To ensure that you receive the special rates, please make your reservation online here by September 28, 2017. If you attempt to make your reservation online and receive a message saying that no rooms are available, please do call the hotel to check for options.  You can make your reservation by calling 405-447-9000 ext 0. Please mention “Life Discovery Conference” to receive the negotiated rate.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES

The check-in time is 3:00PM and checkout time is 12:00PM. The Marriott Conference Center at NCED cannot guarantee availability of guest rooms previous to 3:00 PM. If late check-out is required an additional fee will apply to those requesting late check-out past 12:00 PM unless prior arrangements have been made.

Airport and Shuttle

The hotel is 25 miles from the Will Rogers World Airport, Oklahoma City, OK. Marriott @ NCED offers shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Current rates are $32.00 per person. Please know advance reservations are recommended forty-eight (48) hours in advance to guarantee scheduled pick up. Group pick up must be arranged two (2) weeks in advance. Payment arrangement must be indicated along with scheduling.

In comparison, taxi fare is estimated to be $70 one way.

Driving and Parking

At Marriott @ NCED:   Parking is complimentary at the hotel.

At the University of Oklahoma: Parking at OU is free but a parking code is required for Friday. No code is needed for Saturday.  Parking is permitted on the south side of the Thurman J. White Forum Building. See maps and parking instructions.
