Celebrate Summer with National Pollinator Week, June 22-28, 2008

The Pollinator Partnership is coordinating the 2nd Annual National Pollinator Week, scheduled for June 22-28, 2008, to raise awareness about the importance of pollinators. Events are scheduled throughout the United States and Canada including lectures, workshops, festivals and fairs, art displays, organized hikes, family fun and field days, and open houses.

Several states have signed on to National Pollinator Week, too. Governors in the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Washington, and Wisconsin have all proclaimed June 22-28 Pollinator Week in their state. Don’t see your state on the list? It’s not too late—write a letter to your Governor requesting a proclamation of Pollinator Week in your state!
