Long flights, rain and cold weather could not stop the energy and excitement of the SEEDS fellows arriving here in San Jose, CA. Old fellows are excited to be here again with friends and new fellows are excited to meet new friends. Oh the wonderful life of being a fellow! We are sitting here relaxing around the table discussing the problems in integrating conservation of biodiversity and local communities, it has made me realize that this is just the beginning of a great wonderful meeting full of amazing and innovating ideas. We are excited for tomorrow to arrive, it is going to be full of lectures, presentations, field trips and a great dinner with the SEEDS Advisory Board and Rich Pouyat and Meg Lowman of the ESA Governing Board.
