Technical Sales Associate, North America
Actively engage in the technical sales process; provide technical sales consultation to customers; answer incoming phone calls and emails; qualify, follow up and track sales leads through the entire technical sales process; generate quotations and complete the necessary paperwork for purchasing departments; participate in trade shows and customer visits; generate new customer leads.
B.S. or equivalent in biology, environmental sciences, life sciences, or related field.
Experience•Experience or interest/aptitude in marketing and sales, and applying scientific skills in a business environment.
•Technical sales experience is desirable but not required. Experience working with scientific instrumentation is desirable.
•Familiarity of mathematical and physical principles as they relate to instrumentation and environmental issues.
•Software: basic software experience (e.g., Windows, iOS, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).

•Good communication skills in English (verbal/written) and technical writing ability.

•Provide technical sales consultation to customers. Use research application and instrument knowledge to recommend proper instrument configurations and accessories to customers.
•Answer incoming phone calls and emails.
•Qualify, follow up and track sales leads through the entire technical sales process. Generate quotations and complete the necessary paperwork for purchasing departments.
•Represent LI-COR Environmental products at trade shows and during customer visits and conduct or assist in instrument demonstrations.
•Find new sales prospects from customer referrals, though web searches and scientific journals.
•Make post-sale follow-up calls to customers.
•Help with some marketing activities such as emailers, web site, mailers, ad campaigns, print material.
•Work with others in projects involving the best use of Salesforce and Marketo software in the sales process.
General• Develop and maintain sufficient technical and scientific knowledge and sales proficiency to perform job function.
•Light Work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
•Other job related duties as required.
