MOLECULAR MICROBIAL ECOLOGIST AT MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE.
The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology with a focus in molecular microbial ecology and preference for research interests involving the collection and genomic and metagenomic analyses of environmental samples, beginning in fall 2015. Applicants should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience as well as demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The successful candidate is expected to teach at the introductory level (ecology and evolution) and an upper level molecular ecology course. In accordance with Middlebury’s teaching guidelines, the successful candidate will also teach courses in molecular genetics, genomics, and microbiology although not all in the same year. The successful candidate is also expected to establish an active research program in a supportive, research-active environment.
