Description: Full-time tenure-track position in Botany in the Biology Program
Starting Date: September 1, 2014
Qualifications: Ph.D. in botany, plant biology, or related field with expertise in botany or plant evolution. Preference will be given to candidates with a documented record of excellence in teaching, research, and university service. A research focus that has resulted in an established record of peer reviewed publications is expected. Research that utilizes the University’s field station is preferred.
Responsibilities: The teaching load in the natural sciences is 12 credits (typically two courses plus 1-2 laboratories) per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to teach some combination of the following courses: Field Botany, Restoration Ecology, Aquatic Ecology, Experimental Methods in Field Biology, Bioethics, and courses in the University’s Pioneer Core general education program. The successful candidate is expected to implement his/her active research program at the University. Additional faculty responsibilities include advising, curriculum development, grant submission, service to the Biology Program, the Department of Life Sciences, the College of Natural Sciences, Health Sciences and Business, and the University.
