Description:

The Ecological Society of America's Office of Education and Diversity Programs works to increase diversity within ecology-related professions, engage the public in a dialogue on ecological research and issues, and to improve the quality of ecology education at all levels.

ESA's HQ is based in Washington DC.
Internships are available year round. The following are among the duties that may be assigned, depending on qualifications and interest:

Maintaining the EcoEd Digital Library, an online database of teaching resources
Developing new programs to serve under-represented K-16 audiences
Preparing presentations on education programs
Supporting web-based applications for educational resources
Coordinating education events for the ESA Annual Meeting
Supporting Education and Human Resource Committee
Compiling data for evaluation.

Other Qualifications:
Interest in ecology or science education
Ability to interact cooperatively and effectively with a diverse staff, committees, student leaders, faculty and the public
Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of MS Office Suite
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Ability to work on databases a plus
Ability to speak Spanish a bonus

Internships require a minimum 3- month commitment and a minimum of 20-hours per week.
