This report examines how forest products could be used as biofuel and the availability of these products. To study the sustainability of this bioenergy source, this report reviews some of the forest practices and certification programs which have proven successful in other regions of the world.

Pedagogical Use Description This report can be used to introduce the scope of forestry as from both a conservation and an economic perspective. Students can read this to begin their critical thinking regarding the economic and environmental undertakings of wood products as an alternative energy source. This report could also complement a lecture/lesson concerning a global review of energy consumption.
