Assistant Professor/Tenure Track in Environmental Studies

St. Lawrence University seeks a qualified candidate for a tenure track position in environmental studies at the assistant professor level beginning August 2013. The successful candidate will be an individual who is broadly trained in environmental science and whose specific academic interests are landscape ecology and/or ecological restoration. Some experience in restoration, environmental impact assessment, and other forms of practice or activism are desirable. Candidates should evidence a bio-centric perspective in their training or experience. Ph.D. is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered. This person will teach two to three courses per semester, including introduction to environmental studies and upper level courses to complement the existing curriculum, in consultation with the department chair. We are particularly interested in someone who can develop an on-going research program that can include undergraduate students and would be willing to participate in the University's First Year Program. Additionally, opportunities will exist for teaching in the University's Adirondack semester program, as well as in its new Sustainability Semester.
