I. Chair Election and Nomination
It is the time for AES to elect the chair for the term of 2006-2008. Please send your nomination of the candidate(s) to smiao@sfwmd.gov by June 25.

II. News
New Millennium EcoVision Report: In the past a few years, ESA has been put a great efforts on implementing its New Millennium EcoVision Report. The Chinese version of the Report is at www.frontiersinecology.org/.

ESA Chinese Website Launched (http://www.esachina.cn/): The ESA has recently reached an agreement with the Chinese Government to make all ESA journals accessible to institutions in China. A Chinese version of ESA website is now available to visit.

A Special China Issue on Frontiers: A Special issue of Frontiers in Ecology and Environment on China’s environment issues will be published soon.

In collaboration with the Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology, Sino-Ecologists Association Overseas, and Ecological Society of China, AES has assisted following translations:

The Table of Contents of ESA Journals: The Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology has organized a task force, consisting of mostly graduate students, to translate the table of contents of four ESA journals since 2006 into Chinese language. The translations can be visited at www.plant-ecology.com/cn/dgml.asp. Translation to other languages is also encouraged by ESA.

The translation of Issues in Ecology: Three papers of Issues in Ecology are being translated and will be posted www.esa.org/science/Issues soon.

Dr. Chris Tripler’s new appointment
AES member Dr. Chris Tripler has recently been appointed as an assistant professor at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts starting this September. Congratulation to Chris.

III. Meeting News
